We’re celebrating Co-production Week! 🎉
Co-production is a powerful way of engaging citizens in meaningful dialogue, following the principles of “continuous dynamic dialogue”, which we at the Consultation Institute set as a benchmark of best practice.
We have been working with a range of ICBs in response to NHS England’s statutory guidance, which introduced an increased focus on co-design and co-production in newly formed Integrated Care Systems.
We are working closely with Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Integrated Care Board at two levels. Firstly, to develop practical training that considers:
🔵 Why is co-production important? (Legal Principles/Statutory Duties)
🔵 What is it? (Introduction to Co-Production Principles)
🔵 How to? (Initial Tips and Tricks to Build a Co-productive Environment)
So far, our training has been received by nearly three hundred frontline members of staff, in NHS, local authority and VCSE organisations.
Secondly, working with the Board of the ICB, local authority partners and senior leaders from the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector, we facilitated an executive development session. The aim of which was to establish a common, system-wide understanding between all partners of the responsibilities for senior leaders in implementing co-design and co-production, and together develop our approach to co-design and co-production as system leaders.
We achieved this through a fully facilitated, interactive session with senior leaders that produced outline agreement for future development of co-production and co-design.
